CONSULATE-GENERAL OF BRAZIL IN VANCOUVER
- LEGALIZATION OF DOCUMENTS FOR ANIMAL TRANSPORTATION:
Due
to the high number of applications received, the Consulate-General does
not confirm the receipt of documents neither checks the status of any
process over the phone or email.
Brazilian legislation does not require quarantine for pets (dogs, cats, domestic birds) coming from other countries, provided that proper requirements are followed:
DOGS AND CATS:
- Certificate of rabbies vaccination, issued not less than the previous 30 days and no longer than 1 year.
- Health Certificate issued by the veterinarian, confirming that in the previous 40 days, the animal did not have any infectious disease.

Both documents must be authenticated by Animal Health Canada.
NOTES:

Animals under 4 months-old are exempted to have rabbies vaccination.

The animal must enter in Brazil within 7 days from authentication done by Animal Health Canada.
DOMESTIC BIRDS:
Certificate from Animal Health Canada confirming that the bird does not have psitacosis.

CAD$25.00 per document

CAD$75.00 for 3 or more documents, bundled together.
FORMS OF PAYMENT:
- Money order or certified cheque only, payable to the "Consulate-General of Brazil".
- The Consulate does not accept payments in cash, personal cheque or debit/credit card.
SUBMISSION BY MAIL:

Documents can be submitted to the Consulate by Canada Post and must include a prepaid and self-addressed envelope for return (XpressPost or Priority Courier only).
- All documents submitted must be originals.
- Make sure you have both tracking numbers for your own control. Due to the large number of documents received everyday, the Consulate is unable to confirm the arrival of any application.
- The Consulate-General is not responsible for lost, stolen or delayed mail.

Incomplete applications will not be processed and will be returned.
