You must go to our online application page and fill up the online form. Once you've finished, you have to print the receipt page (with your protocol number and barcode), sign it on the appropriate space on the bottom, attach your 2x2'' photo and send to us along with the other requested documents.

No, just go back to the same page and click on "update visa request form". You'll to login and correct the wrong information.
This happens if you were born in a different country than your current nationality (for example: you were born in Mexico and hold a Canadian passport today. The form will show your nationality as Mexican). It's a glitch from the system and it's corrected in our office once we receive your application.

The most recent one or the one with your correct information only. The other application will be automatically erased from our system after 30 days.
You only need one 2x2" inches photo. Please glue it on the appropriate space being careful to not to cover the top bar code neither the application number. Do not use tape as the picture will be scanned.
Your application may be returned for one of the following reasons:
1) Old application form. You must submit your application online.
2) Expired application. Your receipt is valid for 30 calendar days after you've filled it up online. You must fill in another application.
3) Not enough processing time. You must reschedule your trip. Our processing time is 15 business days.
4) No passport/expired passport or not enough pages on it.
5) No signature on your application form. Make sure you've signed the protocol page before sending it to us.
6) Incorrect or missing payment.
7) No letter of employment. Unless you're retired, you must show a letter of employment and a copy of your paystub.
8) No proof of income. You have to include a copy of your bank statement or last income tax, even if you are retired.
9) No letter from yourself with your itinerary, when and how you'll be arriving and leaving Brazil.
10) Missing invitation letter if you are going to visit someone in Brazil.

Your visa is still valid. When you'll go to Brazil, you must show both passports: the old one with the valid visa and the new one to be stamped.
If you are mailing your application or send by a third party (visa company, friends, etc), you have to pay an extra of CAD$25 for handling fee, per person. You can include this amount in the same money order or certified cheque.
If you live in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon or Northwest Territories, you have to send the application to our Consulate-General in Vancouver. The address is 666 Burrard Street - suite 2020, Vancouver, BC V6C 2X8.
Remember, if you mail it to the Consulate General in Toronto or Montreal or the Embassy in Ottawa, your application will be returned by them without being processed and the regular processing time will still apply.

Yes, without the passport we are unable to process your application and your documents will be returned to you. Copies are not accepted under any circumstances.

No, you can't. You must apply for a passport. Please check on our services section for the required documents to have a Brazilian passport. If you are born outside Brazil and one or both of your parents are Brazilian citizens, you're entitled to have a Brazilian passport.
