- How can I pay for my visa application?
The Consulate-General of Brazil only accepts payments in money order or certified cheque.
- Can I pay by credit card or cash?
No, the Consulate-General does not accept payments by credit or debit card, cash or personal/business cheques.
- What is a money order? Where do I get one?
You can get a money order at your bank or at any postal office. You will pay the fee amount there and you will receive the money order, to be included in your application.
- To whom I make the money order out to?
You will make it out to the Consulate General of Brazil.
- I have multiple applications to send to the Consulate. Can I pay everything in one money order?
Yes, you can. However, include a list detailing each fee. Don't forget that any application sent by mail or third party must include an extra fee of CAD$25 for handling. If you have different services, please make separated money orders.
- Do I need to go in person to the Consulate?
No, you can mail your application and include a prepaid envelope from Canada Post (XpressPost or Priority Courier only) to receive your passport back.
- I dropped off my application. Do I need to pick my passport up in person?
No. You can either come in person, include a prepaid envelope for return with your application or ask someone to pick up your passport on your behalf. The person must have a written authorization from you and a photo ID.
- Do you accept courier services?
No. Although we can receive packages from courier services such as DHL, Fedex, Purolator or UPS, we do not mail passports back with courier services. You must include a prepaid return envelope from Canada Post (XpressPost or Priority Courier only).
- We are a family/group travelling together. Can we mail the applications and passports together or it must to be done separately?
You can mail everything in one envelope. Please ensure each application has its own set of documents (with copies of flight itinerary/financial information in each application) and the payment is included.
- Do I need to make an appointment to drop my application off?
No, you don't to make an appointment. You can come at anytime between 10am and 1pm, Monday to Friday.
